A community refers to a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. According to my observation, we tend to impact people\u2019s lives far from us than those in our community. If you\u2019ve never thought about making a difference in your community, or you don\u2019t know how to do it, this article is for you. It will help you to wake up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is good to donate to organizations worldwide, but we must never forget that our communities have a lot of needs. We must look around us with compassion, and we will see them. Making a difference in people\u2019s lives in our community is very important. We\u2019ve probably done it, but we must plan to do it on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes, people do charitable work for their self-ambitions to be seen or honoured. Our intention must be for the glory of God. Even for the most basic care, we must do it according to the Bible and rely on the working power of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are called to be our neighbours\u2019 caregivers. God brings us alongside those suffering so that we can be there for them, just as God was there for us when we were suffering. If you\u2019ve never cared about people in your community, here\u2019s the place to start. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes where there is a need. Do something without expecting to be paid but take care of one another voluntarily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For example, your neighbour probably needs help mowing his lawn or shaving snow. Maybe the kids in your community need adults to coach them, get them across the road, babysit, etc. You can ask an older adult how you can help them, etc. Maybe your church, your children\u2019s school, or other organization are running low on volunteers; you can plan to help for an hour or more. The opportunities are plentiful. As we approach the New Year, let\u2019s stand up together to impact our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
